Our driver Rajeb will collect you early morning and take you to the first Oasis - Kharjah - around 200 kms from Luxor. This is Rajeb preparing a meal under his temporary awning.
Kharjah was known to the ancient Egyptians as the Southern Oasis and has been part of trade routes for thousands of years
Your day will include a stop to swim in the natural hot springwater which is renowned for its therapeutic properties.
You will visit the temple and palace of Qasr Dush and see Hibis Temple from the outside (It is currently undergoing extensive repair and restoration work)
You will get the chance to try climbing a sand dune during the day. This part of the Western Desert is known as the Yellow Sands. Further north west are the Black Sands and the White Sands.
You will also visit Bagawat Coptic Monastery cemetery before returning to Luxor late afternoon. On the way back you will stop and see the incredible night sky in the desert, seeing the heavens as you've never seen them before.
